review 1: Without a doubt my favourite book series! I read this for the first time a few years ago and I've retread it countless times since. Usually, I hate book series and I end up giving up half way through the series, but this was one of the rare few I was sad to end. The characters are likeable and realistic and the plot keeps you engaged, desperate to find out what will happen next. It's a shame that there's so few reviews, compared to other books though.
review 2: This is my first Kelley Armstrong series, and I'll definitely be reading more.The Darkest Powers Trilogy is about a teenage girl named Chloe. She has seen ghosts since she was a young child, but an encounter at school leads to her being sent to a group home for mentally ill students. Turns out all the te... moreens there don't have issues, but are paranormals, Chloe being a necromancer.Throughout the series, Chloe makes friends with the other teens at the group home, and they must escape the people who are trying to keep them locked up and later trying to kill them.I loved these stories, as the characters, even with their paranormal powers, were relatable. The story pacing was amazing, something always happening. I never wanted to put the book down.I wasn't sure what to think of the love triangle as it developed. But I'm very happy with how things turned out, that part of the plot not overtaking the story.While the end of the story made me happy, my only complaint is that one of the subplots was not tied up as much as I would have liked it to be. But that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the series.A fabulous read for those who enjoy young adult and paranormal stories, or even if you want to try something new. less
