review 1: This one was ok - better than the first but still a little irritating in places. I think the main reason for that is Jessica is not a very sympathetic character! It's hard to read a novel where you're seeing it all through the eyes of someone quite so hard-faced. The twist was better handled in the second one & I particularly like the section where you are given a front row seat to a bit of a breakdown - that part was well written and very believable. I'm giving the third one a try and if she doesn't soften up a little (and stop doing stupid stuff), then I'm calling time.
review 2: I think the author did a better job the second time around with the plot. There were still a few "surprises" that I felt were pretty obvious and easy to figure out, but I wasn't able... more to figure out the killer this time around (which is more normal for me). I thought it went a little far when Jessica went on her tangent and got kinda crazy but I can kind of get it considering the situation she was in. Overall I liked it and will continue the series. less
