review 1: really enjoy Lavinia Lewis’s Shifters’ Haven series. This series does not need to be read in chronological order and I have found myself jumping around within this series with no problems. I really liked Ms. Lewis’s characters in Aaron’s Awakening. Both Aaron and Cary were relatively young shifters who had to deal with heavy issues. Cary has been lied to and abused. His ability to trust anyone, especially a strong and dominant male is severely damaged by the shifter who lied to him and nearly killed him. So when Aaron, his true mate, comes along the battle he faced seem insurmountable. Taking his relative inexperience and youth, Aaron needed to grow up fast. Ms. Lewis than gave the young lovers the additional challenge of having a forbidden love. I think sh... moree handled all these competing issues quite well. Ms. Lewis took her readers on Aaron and Cary’s journey of growth. Aaron had to learn a patience that was not necessarily in his nature. And Cary had to learn to trust himself and Aaron. The journey was well written and clearly laid out. I enjoyed this addition of the Shifters’ Haven series and look forward to reading more from Ms. Lewis. Four Twinkling Stars!!
review 2: I loved this book. Of the books released in the series this is my favorite. It was a fun read and I loved Aaron and Cary together. I know I was wondering how Cary could have two mates at the end of the last book and loved why Cary got a second mate in Aaron. They were perfect together. The first half of the book is pretty much Cary and Aaron trying to figure stuff out between them since Cary is so messed up from Gill and everything he did in book three. Then the second half introduces new characters both bad and good and really starts to develop the world more and there are some fights and some gunshots and all that action stuff. I really liked the pace of the book and how Cary was allowed time to work on his emotional stability and process everything that was happening. Can’t wait for Nate’s book to be released less
