review 1: The murders that occur in the present are obviously copycat murders of those that terrorized Cleveland in 1932 . MO and Locations are as exact as possible. The reader follows the investigation of 1932 and the one Theresa MacClean is participating in present time. The characters in the previous two stories are present during this tale also. These characters ,again, are simply background fodder to the extremely interesting story. Truth be told in this tale the " apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
review 2: What a great storylone this was. In 1934 a killer called the Torso Killer stalked Cleveland. That is a true story, except he was then called the Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run. Lisa Black took that story and fashioned a modern day story out of it starting with
... more the finding of a dead body sealed up in a building that was being torn down. The Torso Killer was never caught, but the modern day killer needed to be. This modern day lunatic is intent on reliving the past murders in every detail. less
