review 1: I was surprised when I started this book to find a new bunch of characters. Although I liked them, I had no idea that the author had a different series going in addition to the one I had been reading. Then I realized that when I got the book, I had confused the author with another author that I wanted. I'm glad I did. The main characters are very engaging, and although the bad guy WAS on my list of suspects, he was waaaay down on the list until the very end. I'll definitely read some more by her.
review 2: It’s a trip back in time to solve a murder only now that the case has come to light there is a copy cat murderer who has decided that they would like a piece of the action. As the story unfolds, a string of murders are now being committed around town ... moreand is this the same killer who has killed before or is it someone else who is striving for attention? Theresa must piece together a murder which occurred in 1935 by using her forensic methods while at the same time find any ties to the murders, if any, to the murders which are occurring now. The book switches time periods by chapter which is good and is less confusing but there is a wide variety of characters to keep track of. I like going back in history to 1935 in the book and learning about the characters and their lives and how that applies to her investigation now. What tools they used to investigate the murder in 1953 are helpful now and what can she use now to solve the murder? I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading another book by Lisa Black. less
