review 1: Really really good. Really. The only reason I held back on the 5th star is that I didn't like it as much as the first book. I think I am realizing that books lose a little of their luster, for me, once they become so focused on the romance aspect of the story. Not a big deal here, because I like the characters so much. But I would have liked more about her mom and the Captain and stuff. Also, I'm a teacher and I was grossed out by the role of teachers in this one. My personal emotion aside, it was a great read and I am already 1/3 of the way through the third book!
review 2: This book is actually better than the first one, which is surprising because usually things go the other way. Cabel is still annoyingly sweet and almost too perfect, but mostly the characte... morers are given more fleshing out. I read this one in a few hours just as with the last book, and it kept me hooked the entire time. Yes, it was predictable, but it moved quickly enough that it kept my interest. All in all, a good read. less
