review 1: I'm going to simply chalk this book up to "just not my type of hero". I know a lot of readers don't like the heroin. I like her. I like her a lot actually. I find her endearing, well meaning, sad and broken a little bit and yes, childish and stubborn. But, that's who she is. I like that she grows throughout the book as well. I hate how the Hero was written however. There seemed to be so many places where he could have said or done "the right thing" and then was just an asshat. I have had some time to ponder this. He's not really a very likeable guy but he also grows throughout the book... a little. I gave the book 3 stars in all because I think there were a lot of good parts to the actual story itself but totally missed the boat for me in believing in this couple. The hero... more stands for all the men who manipulate women out of what they stand for and his acts of "bravery" and "selflessness" at the end did not redeem him to me and was simply too much for me to buy into. The funniest, most natural scenes were the ones with Castleford (very witty) but I'm not sure I'm going to like him much better.

No entanto, os livros que falo tinham uma forte componente sexual e parece que não, por vezes, isso tira algum peso à história que nos é contada.Aqui não, os detalhes são magnificamente descritos, as personagens são completas e avançam na história a um ritmo normal, mesmo o enlace intimo entre Verity e Grayson aconteceu compassadamente, à medida que se iam conhecendo e ganhando confiança um com o outro.Madeline Hunter e a série As Flores Mais Raras tem o meu selo de aprovação para uma leitura romantica, sensual e que nos lembra que não devemos julgar as pessoas baseadas apenas numa primeira impressão, muitas vezes equivocada e obscurecida pelos nossos próprios dramas e que nada têm a ver com a pessoa em questão. less
