review 1: This is the 29th book of Mary Daheim and I enjoyed it and while I didn't like this one as much as others in the series I will be reading the next one. Judith and Renie are cousins that live close to each other with their mothers close by. The mothers are something else but they don't show up much in this book. Judith runs a bed and Breakfast and usually the stories are set there but this book has the cousins going to housesit for an Aunt and Uncle while their husbands are on a trip. of course they find a dead body and have to figure out who did it.
review 2: Bed and breakfast proprietor Judith Flynn is at loose ends, with husband Joe off on a fishing trip, and business in its midwinter lull. Then her Aunt Vance demands that she travel out to a little island of
... moref the coast and house-sit for Vance and her husband Vince while they help out an ailing relative. With reluctant cousin Renie in tow, Judith goes to the island and stumbles upon a dead body. Who would want to kill Ernie? The mostly retired inhabitants spend their time drinking and gossiping, but no one has a word to say against the victim. Judith can't resist doing a little snooping, although she swore off detective work after her last case. less
