review 1: #26 in the Hamish Macbeth series. Always enjoyable; Hamish, his neighbors and his colleagues are back for another round.Hamish Macbeth series - a Valentine's Day parcel explodes in the face of Lammas festival queen, Annie Fleming. Hamish Macbeth is forced to tote his new constable, the less than professional Josie McSween. Annie turns out to have been leading a less than virtuous double life, with no shortage of suspects in her murder. Hamish tries to break the case, while Josie strives to crack Hamish's heart.
review 2: I love the setting of Lochdubh and Hamish Macbeth the sleuth. This was another great whodunnit filled with humor and a more than slightly demented romance. The clues take you from Locdubh, to Strathbane and from small outlying homes, to churc
... morehes and even a disco. Hamish, his new hapless constable Josie, his dog Lugs and cat Sonsie deal with murders, a temptress victim, unrequited love, infidelity and a hit man. A quick, fun read, if you like mysteries and haven’t tried this series yet you should. less
