review 1: Another Agatha Raisin. While these books have many, many repeated elements they are always good reads even if sometimes predictable. Don't know how Beaton has given us a character that we don't always like but still hold close to our hearts. It is as if Agatha is that slightly cranky old aunt or neighbor that you wouldn't want staying with you for long but that you always want somewhere in your life. Will she ever figure out her love life or find the right partner? Or just accept life as a single person?
review 2: This book was quite a good book by M. C. Beaton. Admittedly, this is not one of the greatest Agatha Raisin books because of the similarity with some of the other books and also has some characters which are not developed much. There are also man... morey strengths, as there were characters from previous books which helped the plot and it clearly had some good scenes (as shown by the great reviews on the blurb).I would probably recommend this to someone who has read a couple of Beaton's books before, but not as the first book by the author. less
