review 1: i love this book and i think everyone who is cynical about love should read this book. i wont guarantee that you'll suddenly turn into a hopeless romantic, just that maybe you'll start believing in love a lil bit. firstly,i love this book because it taught me that Dublin is in Ireland. HAHA. seriously. i always thought that it was in India (i totally suck with world maps). anyway, yes i love this book. the thing about this book is that it goes back in time and gives you twists and turns that you wouldnt even expect. basically, the book is about Leonie, who ran away from reality, to the States. I love Leonie because she reminds me of 90% of the world. when you get scared, when you have a problem, you always run away from it. But this book showed me that running away has its... more pros and cons. it would give you a clearer mind, maybe even a new adventure, a new friend. but at the end of the day, it actually prolongs the inevitable. and sometimes when we thought that we had messed up badly, what we always seem to forget is that people can be forgiving, especially for those people they love. Somemore, this book was also about Alex (Leonie's new friend). Spoiler alert okay? There's Seth, her ex-husband to be. And my my, he is hot. at least he is in my mind HAHA. and there also lies the main story about the love letters. Some guy named Nathan has apparently been sending letters to a Helena, asking her for forgiveness. omg. i am a hopeless, total sucker for romance, so yes this book really captureed my heart and soul (and maybe a few tears as well). i really do love this book.
review 2: woohoo.. my 50th book this year! i've completed my challenge for the year, barely. ^_^I've only read one other Melissa Hill novel before, but i really like how she twists the story around, so it never quite goes the way you'd expected it to be. The story revolve around Leonie, who for some reason, ran away from Dublin to San Francisco. She quickly adapted to being in the USA, working at a florist shop and befriended her neighbour, Alex. She then found a box of letters in her new apartment, all addressed to a Helena Abbot, with request for forgiveness from Nathan. She was intrigued by this & made it a personal quest to find Helena & Nathan, roping in Alex's help. While on this quest, Melissa also including the reason behind Leonie's departure, as well as Alex's search for someone, all building up slowly to keep you turning those pages. less
