review 1: WOW! Just wow! This book truly creeped me out and has really got me thinking. I am definitely taking Mia Grant's reccomendation in the acknowledhements and reading Parasite Rex by Carl Zimmer (a non-fiction book). The ending left me wanting more with the way it ended, but in a good way. I can't wait for the next book in this series! It's already killing me....or is it just the tapeworm in my brain?
review 2: I'd give this 3 1/2 stars. Like other reviewers the main characters just don't hit the mark for me. I'm ambivalent about Sal. And that seems bad for book #1. On the other hand, the premise is interesting. And I love the way Mira Grant writes - the interview excerpts, video transcripts, fake children's books? Those extras really create the world. The writing... more propels you forward and I know I'll read the next two books because I want to know how many tapeworms are out there! less
