review 1: This final entry to The Royal House of Shadows series matched the quality of Andersen's entry, which was a relief. Singh did a wonderful job with Micah's character development from amnesiac Lord of the Abyss to Prince Micah of Elden without negating that he is fully both identities and always will be. Liliana is also a feat many writers could not pull off--a believable ugly romantic heroine that is strong, smart and jumps off the page. The only weakness in the novel, and for any series set up this way is the need to see the siblings truly reunited and interacting with one another, and to see them come to the fight together. We know how Dayne and Reda got to the castle on the right day and time, but how about Nikolai, Jane, Breena and Osborn? What was their part, and as kin... moreg and the most powerful should not Nikolai have led the way? Seeing the defeat only through one perspective made it too quick and easy a victory.
review 2: It was a good book. It kept me interested enough. It was about a magical kingdom whose King and Queen died trying to save their people and lands. The mother sent the last of her magic into saving her children from the evil sorcerer. This tale was about the youngest son who forgot who he was. But was helped to remember by the evil sorcerer' s daughter who came to stop her father with his help. Like I said it was pretty interesting. less
