Drafts are scary things. They expose us in our rawest form as writers. They’re the naked face of prose before she’s had time to apply her makeup. They’re vulnerable and pining for change. But they’re also beautiful. They show us at our beginnings.
For me, this is an especially big step. You see, this will be my first time working on a series of short stories. This one in particular is inspired by the famous Grimm Brother’s tale known as Hansel and Gretel.
You’ll continue to see more of these snippets as I grow comfortable posting work online. I can only hope doing so will build my confidence as a writer.
