review 1: I love this era...My first book by this author, but I have more on hand to read. I love follow up stories to my favorite Jane Austen books, as long as they know what the are talking about, and do not take liberties. This book was very good, and that it was a Christmas story, even better. I loved the Georgianna had to deal with Lady Catherine, and the Bennets....if that does not give you courage ..nothing would.. I gave this a 4.5...and am glad I own it,and will read it again whenever my pile of books to read drops.....
review 2: I usually avoid Jane Austen sequels because they are never as satisfying as the originals. In this case I weakened because, well, it was Christmas. However, this book is as inadequate as most in its genre. The reader inserts lengthy ... morequotations from “Pride and Prejudice” and gives the characters a lot of embarrassing commentary on the events of that book. I was particular disappointed with the author’s treatment of Lady Catherine, my favorite from the original book. less
