review 1: This 'prequel' was written after the first novel I believe. I found it disappointing. I guess I'll have to read the 'first' book - the one that comes after this (...) to find out whether his standards are worth reading in future.This book is meant to put some sense into the future books of the series, so, although it wasn't written first I guess it's now considered to be necessary. But you can see that he didn't put a great deal of thought into the story line. Things happened in much too cut and dried ways, life just isn't like that. It's a lazy book.But, I guess it fills in some time, lets hope the later books make it worthwhile.

Couldn't ask for a better police procedural with lots of clues, red herrings and twists and an ending t... morehat should have been seen sooner with all the clues provided and none of that old pull some character out of the hat that hadn't even been in the story crap! And the writing is good, literate and with pretty real dialogue!Read it this afternoon while listening to the Blue Jays game on the radio!I think I'm going to like this series!!!!!!! less
