review 1: Lacey & her daughter survive the hurricane which destroyed the house but has given her a new start. With the insurance money, she can now build the bed & breakfast she's always wanted. She goes looking for the best architect. Little does she know that Clay is no longer part of the firm when he shows up with blueprints for the vision he pictures. Not just a b&b but a resort. Lacey is excited but is skeptical. She loves the idea but has no clue where the money is coming from. On top of that her 3 best friends show up to help. While she is falling in love with Clay, her daughter has been secretly talking with her dad. Now David has show up & wants Lacey back so they can be a family. Not going to happen. Ashley has felt adrift since the hurricane. She feels like she has no hom... moree. Then Clay shows her the bedroom suite he has design for her in the new house. She loves it but tells Clay to stay away because her parents are getting back together. Lacey thinks that's what Clay did but in reality he has gone to see his father. He talks to his dad about Lacey & what they are trying to do. It startles the father into waking up from a coma. It hits Clay that is was his father that bought the property on either side of Lacey's. When the doctors give him a thorough check over, they let Clay back in. Dad signs over the property free & clear. Now he is racing to get back to Lacey. Lacey is afraid to start but with the help of her friends, she stands up & makes her presentation. Clay shows up at the end. David invests & leaves. He promises to keep in tough with Ashley. Clay & Lacey get married on the beach where they met. Look forward to reading about her friends stories.
review 2: This is definitely a must-read summer novel! Roxanne St. Claire sets a dramatic opening to this new four book series that grabs you and hooks you right from the first paragraph. The character interactions are recognizable, heartwarming and humorous, and, of course, there's a happy ending on multiple fronts. You'll want to go from book to book to keep the momentum going and see what's in store for each of the four heroines! less
