review 1: I was recently reminded of past Sarah Mayberry books I've enjoyed. I looked to see what new releases might be out and found this. I enjoyed this book so much. Primarily because the characters behaved like real, regular people. The story has a huge uncertainty and major block--the hero has a critical health problem. The heroine, a physician training in her specialty, doesn't even learn of it until halfway through the book. And although it's important to the plot, it's recognized that it's an uncontrollable element that doesn't affect the essential WHO and WHAT of these characters. I especially enjoyed Will, who has recently "hit" the fame spotlight as a musician, yet is the same sweet guy he's always been. Leah doesn't worry about his fame or wealth--she's just concerned ab... moreout HIM--the essential man she loves. He helps her through her own conflict and the ending is nicely satisfying.
review 2: Leah, a surgeon-in-training, finds the gorgeous musician has moved into the flat beside her. She's never heard of him but falls in love with his music and his voice and his gentle, caring nature. As Leah tries to deal with her dysfunctional family and manipulative mother, Will is heading into the great unknown of brain surgery. Trusting someone enough to allow himself to be vulnerable in front of them was never going to be a walk in the park for Will Jones, award-winning composer and performer. But Leah Mathews is no ordinary woman. And she's going to fight to help Will recover while trying to keep her heart intact. This is a lovely, gentle read about the healing power of love. The characters are real and the emotional ride is worth it. less
