review 1: Not the strongest entry in the Ben Hope series but entertaining nonetheless. While earlier entries whip along like a white water rapid this one just seemed to move at a steady pace. It didn't really bog down but the typical breakneck pace never materialized. A couple of surprises and enough action kept me interested throughout but the ending seemed to come abruptly like the author realized he was running up against a deadline. Still recommeded.
review 2: Good, but not fantastic. I've come to enjoy the series for the revenge/butt-kicking moments, and there weren't enough in this book. The ongoing theme of this work, about the sword (The Sword) simply wasn't very compelling. Most books like this will come up with an artifact that we feel strongly about, so
... moremething we've never heard of but realize 'yeah, that's out there and it's cool,' but with this one, I was never hooked into the sword. less
