review 1: Great second installment! The first novel in this trilogy, Afterime, transistioned easily into Rebirth. I finished this book and let's just say when I realized I was on the last chapter, I went and ordered the next and final book in the series for my Nook. The ending of Rebirth, don't worry no spoiler here, its such a great cliff hanger I just needed to keep going. A definite page turner. And again her descriptiveness and indepth character detail really makes you get to know each character, both sides of them good and bad, beautiful and ugly. I love it!
review 2: Once again, I wish I could give a 3.5 star rating: On a scene-by-scene basis I liked the second book in the Aftertime trilogy as much as the other two, and the totally unexpected (by me, at least
... more) development halfway through includes some of the most vivid, viscerally engaging writing I've ever read. On the other hand, I found the book's central quest to be totally lacking in motivation, seeming to stem more from an authorial desire to show a certain part of her world than a believable desire on the part of the characters to actually go there. less
