review 1: What a pleasant surprise this book was. It combines humor, grief, bullying, professional wrestling, and relationships in a way that draws the reader in. Henry and his father have moved to a new town after his older brother did something horrible at their old high school. Henry must see a psychologist, who suggests that he write in a journal about his feelings. He also must deal with his weird neighbors, the nerdy kid who has attached himself to him, and his first crush. The bullying and violence in the book reflect what happens every day in schools and is horrifying in some parts. There is some language as well. Instead of being a depressing read, this book shows that there can be hope and healing. It shows kids that dealing with grief and anger takes a lifetime and isn't ... morea quick fix. I would recommend this book for all students, grades 7 and up, as bullying is prevalent. Boys especially will like the wrestling parallels. I felt for Henry and his wobblies.
review 2: I'm not going to write a very long review, but I just wanted to say on thing: wow. My expectations for this book were extremely low. I honestly though it was going to be similar to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, which I extremely dislike; however, this book was nothing like I expected. I expected to give it a one, maybe two star review. I thought the whole "someone's forcing me to write a diary which I really hate but I'm going to do it anyways, now I'm really enjoying it" was going to reoccur in this book, but apparently not. less
