review 1: I won this ARC on Goodreads. It is the first in the series that I have read, although I have seen the TV series. The private lives of the characters are not the same in the books as in the TV portrayals. The main back-story 6 years earlier is interspersed with the current story. Rizzoli & Isles are convinced that they are searching for a serial killer whose murders span years. As more clues are gathered, more murders are discovered. The plot has an interesting twist in regard to the murderer. The last 50 pages move so quickly that it was a bit difficult to follow all the changes in theories. Ultimately, all is explained at the end.
review 2: As a devoted fan of Tess Gerritsen's books, I've been eagerly anticipating the latest Rizzoli and Isles book. Overall, th... moreis is a solid addition to the series. I could not put it down at the end, and I was not able to predict the ending (the sign of a great mystery or thriller to me!). The only issue I had was with the stories outside the main mystery and crimes- I felt the issues with Dr. Isles and her mother were left too open, as well as the story line of Rizzoli's mother and father. However, as this is a series, I expect that these will be picked up again in the next installment. Review copy provided by Edelweiss and Netgalley. less
