review 1: This is my favorite so far in the Rizzoli and Isles series. Strange things are happening in Boston's Chinatown. Now a severed hand and a severed head, and the torsos that they belong attached to have been found and 19 years ago missing teenage girls, and multiple murders in a Chinese restaurant. Could all of these mysteries be linked together someway? Is someone (or thing) getting revenge. Was the original suspect innocent? Rizzoli, Frost and their new partner Johnny Tam set out to find out the truth.A short story "Freak" was included at the end of the book. About two young people, who thought they were vampires. Strange, but interesting conclusion.
review 2: The plus: decent airplane read. The minus: it's basically Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, minus L
... moreisbeth plus CHINESE NINJAAAAAAAAAAS! To the extent that the previous sentence is really a spoiler alert for the entire plot of the book. Honestly, it's to the point that I'm surprised -well, I was going to say surprised Larsson's estate hadn't sued her, but I just thought, "Surely I'm not the first person to think of this," googled "the silent girl with dragon tattoo," and the first result is an uber-defensive post by Tess Gerritsen about the comparison. Anyway, I'm joking about the estate suing her, but if I were her, I'd be embarrassed to publish this. Glad I got it from the library rather than buying. less
