review 1: I did not belive in Santa Claus growing up. So while I know the myth and have seen many movies with a santa claus in them I will admit one of my favorites is Rise of the Guardians. But after seeing that movie I wanted to know the backstories of the other guardians.This book is about North the future santa claus. He was once a thief and brigand but then he crosses paths with the special town of Santoff Claussen and he becomes the first Guardian.While they never out right call him that and he's not even a jolly old man by the end of the book It is a refreashing new take on Santa Claus. I have only one problem with this book and its a pretty good reason. I wished it was a bit more grown up than it was but this book was for 7-11 year olds and I am a 23 year old so I am way out... more of the demographic. But it was still an enjoyable quick read and I will read the rest of the series. So I recommend this to really anyone just be aware if you are older than 11 it is written more for them than you.
review 2: It is a really amazing book, and the art work in it is amazing as well.The way it is told is well done. As a book it has changed the whole Story of St. Nic but by doing so have turned him into a much more heroic and lovable character. If you are every feeling down or want a get away from you life this is the book to read cause it really takes a person away from thought about their life, wither it be health, relationships, life as a whole, this book gets you hooks into it and makes you laugh to much.It really is a breeze to read.So as a whole I really do love this book and would recommend it to anyone in a hard moment like now cause it really give you a break from it all. less
