review 1: The sandman and the War of Dreams is a part of William Joyce's Guardian of Childhood Series. The man in the Moon has Problem. He needs another helper, so he looks and looks until he comes upon this sleepy guy named Sanderson, which is sandy for short. Now that he found him, there is an adventure sure to start. The amazing William Joyce write this story, which means he also illustrated it. You must imagine how amazing his pictures are. Any Joyce book is worth anyone's time. He is a great author with an even better imagination. This book will give you a sense of adventure and wonder, as do all of his books.

Sandman was my favorite character in the movie, and Nightlight is my favorite character in the books. This book has both of them, doing what they do best: braving the darkness and fighting the nightmares that dare to steal a child's soul.This book is filled with so much hope and memory. We begin to see the other Guardians becoming what they will be in the movie (the movie takes place after the book series, which has not ended). We see Sandman as he was, as he is, as he'll ever be, and we see Nightlight's greatest strength. I felt tears of joy, tears of sadness, and glorious moments of hope and relief. My only regret, is that I was born too early to enjoy these books with a child's untarnished belief of magic. I recommend this book and the series to all young readers, fans of fairy tales, and those that remember what it was like to believe in the magic of childhood. less
