review 1: This became three stars as soon as Arian died. I really liked the story and I wanted to rate it a four but the dying part really stopped me. Arian was by far my favourite character from the beginning even though he's not a completely original character. I felt that the ending was just clearing up the mess of the story and leaving no complications left. I didn't like that. The love triangle was complicated because they were best friends and all that but.....seriously, is there a need to kill such a great character just because you don't want to write another book?
review 2: This is a book for outcasts, for Luca's guard is made up of them. All finding a common cause and purpose for their lives. It is an adventure story that doesn't stop, with a twist of magic and... more blind faith thrown in. Not to mention a kick-ass female protagonist that seems to be possessed by a demon wolf spirit. All topped off with a sprinkling of love and a helping of humour. I enjoyed every bit of this story - flashback, dream and reality. I'll be looking out for more books by Zoe Marriott! less
