Dark Soul
review 1: I have read about Silvio into a book by K.A. Merikan and I was just curious of him, but the novel by Aleksandr Voinov surprised me in many way and all pleasant. Though I don't like the serial form , Dark soul worked for me, so as the story divided in parts. Make all more fast, dynamic; also makes appreciate better the story, know the characters and relish the plot and the writing is very good ...no that I will not read one after another, though.
review 2: The tendrils darkness of the book sucks you in and never lets go. Like being caught in a spider's web that just ensares you through the eyes of Sylivo and Stefano. What is fascinating is the world's concepts of what is right and wrong. The world of the mafioso dictating who is correct to love and who is not b
... moreased on what you do. Defining masculinity in such a box that doesn't allow freedom. This is the world Sylvio and Stefano are in. One bucks against it and doesn't care for pleasure is the goal and who gives it doesn't matter while the other secretly hides desires while conforming to the rules. Stefano loves his wife but you can tell as he interacts with Sylvio that he has conflicting emotions. He has desire for Sylvio. Desire he hadn't experienced before and feared. Feared the feeling and the repercussions. All the while the danger around him on the outside escalates. When you begin Sylvio is seemingly dangerous and freaky but as the book goes on you see a passionate man that doesn't know how to show it accept by taking in pain. Pain is his aphrodisiac. Makes him whole and content. Stefano you see is a confused man in a world that he doesn't quite fit in. Makes you wonder why he is there. As the two collide the sexual tension peaks and you wonder when the inevitable will occur and release of tension will happen. Accept can Stefano get over his fears?A gothic feel the book takes on as we get engulfed in the violent world that surrounds Stefano and Sylvio as they begin a journey of self discovery and dealing with fears and insecurities that hold them back.As you get trapped in the web of these two characters you will finish wanting more. So beautiful in the gothic feel and dark foreboding that is. As we begin to see what this world defines as masculinity, how Sylvio bucks this and Stefano wants to and the danger of the world around them escalates. less
