review 1: Despite Erlendur's absence in this installment (with Elinborg heading this investigation), this was one of the best novels in the series, and one of the most difficult, as it deals intimately with rape, the systemic failure of justice for rape victims and the difficulty of proving rape - and what vigilante justice can mean. Probably the most emotional novel yet in this series: Outrage is an appropriate title.
review 2: I guess my favorite from this author is still "Voices". This one is not the same detective but one of his crew who took over when he's not there. It was interesting the see how the detective solve the crime not with guns and guts. But only with questioning and more relentless questionings. I didn't know detectives in Iceland don't carry guns ... morein their search for criminals. With the world we live in I guess it's good to know that crimes can be solved this way. less
