review 1: So many of these types of books are murder after murder, often in graphic detail. This was much more a character study of the people surrounding the murder of a little boy. You got to know dozens and dozens of people as the police did their search. I read most of the last half of the book on a rainy day outside on the porch and it was a great setting for it. I may have read others in the series but will now go back and find them.

While these novels lack the excitement and fantastic plots of Jo Nesbo, they are very engaging and great at developing characters. less
