The Hunchback Assignments
review 1: Even though I loved it to bits and pieces, The Dark Deeps was not as good as it's predecessor, The Hunchback Assignments. I thought that the concept was still wild and the novel itself still stellar, but, the first was better. Perhaps because the first was one of my favourite concepts, so maybe I'm biased, but still. However, I still highly recommend this one because it's genius. It's a beautiful piece, and I'm glad for having read it.

... more kind of fiction steampunk- a fantasy that's based on some real history. In this case, Modo finds himself a captive aboard a prototype submarine when he sent on a mission to find out what is disabling and sinking ships off Iceland. There was a touch of romance and a lot of adventure in this story. I already own the next two titles in the series. less
