review 1: It's definitely about science. And it's for sure fiction since it's not happened [yet].But calling it science-fiction all together is stretching it. Real world, real danger, possible situations...I enjoyed it though. No problems on that side. Great story line. Fast chapters. Plenty of people so we don't get only one point of view and get bored. Well done all together. Still don't get the part of WHY tell the story of Charley Family, but hey, It was there, I read it. Good book to read. And if you will be able to put it down before going to bed, you will certainly be able to pick it up in the morning to know WHO WHY WHERE and WHEN. Yep. Not Fabulous, but absolutely a good book. Plus I love the cover.
review 2: After reading some other reviews for this book I have
... more to agree with them about the characters. It seems that the characters were just pasted on so he could tell a story about lasers. All the characters were very one dimensional and all I can really say about the main character is that he worked alot and has back pains. The science behind the laser was interesting though and how he used it was interesting. Overall I wouldn't really recommend this book to others unless they liked the science aspect of the book. less

Way to drawn out. I have read a lot of Ben Bova and this one is really hard to read!

I cringed every time the word gook was used. This book has every thriller cliche.

Your basic techno-thriller, but not too thrilling.

A very good and fast-paced read.
