review 1: This book is definitely not for the "faint of heart" reader. It is a graphic tale of a woman who is abducted and endures a living hell for a year before she escapes and tries to live a "normal" life again. I like how the author tells the story through a counselor's "sessions" and how a mystery unravels throughout the story to see who was really involved in the abduction. This is an intense novel with the message - never to trust anyone!
review 2: If you just can't get enough of Criminal Minds, then this is the book for you. The idea of writing it in the first person as a series of therapy sessions was interesting, but didn't move it into the category of a good book. This was selected for my book group so it was a sort of "forced read." I would not have go
... moretten beyond the first chapter otherwise. If you look at the other reviews, obviously some people loved this book. I found it a tawdry, poorly written work. Hopefully, it is not too much of a plot spoiler to say that unless police ethics are much different in Canada than in the US, and I really know that they are not, there are elements of the plot that are very far fetched. less
