review 1: Brilliantly honest, this dark domestic drama, Caribou Island, captures the story of a husband and wife at odds - Perhaps they never should have married? Set in the remote area of Alaska in a place of exile, the end of the line.The characters were very dysfunctional and ones that you could not warm up to, no matter how hard one tried. Was I prepared for the ending. . …like watching a train wreck, you know it's going to end badly but it's too late to turn your head.
review 2: Jeg ved faktisk ikke hvordan jeg skal "rate" denne bog. Må indrømme at det var Coverbilledet der fik mig til at samle den op. Det er nok den mørkeste bog jeg nogensinde har læst. Tænker på hvordan har forfatteren mon fået inspiration til at skrive sådan. Kender han mon nogle de... morer lever et sådant liv?På mange måder en god bog, bare sørgelig. Det virker som om Alaskas barske natur og personernes fundamentale ensomhed ligesom forstørre de almene problemer, mange nok glimtvis har mødt i parforhold og andre relationer. less
