review 1: More excellent Brubaker-Phillips crime drama NOIR. Read other reviews for the plot regurgitations and over-explanations of the play-by-play. Simply put, All i would suggest is it would probably be helpful to read the prior TPB CRIMINAL compilations in order before jumping into this. Doing so made it even better for me, as the entire series flows together like an out-of-control run-away train, or a snowball rollling down a hill. It isnt easy to recycle every possible film noir cliche in the book and have it be it's OWN entity and not a bad parody. Brubaker/Phillips are the best.
