review 1: Let's be honest, the story of Jim and Noelle was never going to live up to the epic love/hate relationship that had been going on for the past four and a half books.We all know that something happened in their past which made them hate each other (I was about to say that I thought that was a mistake - one of them should have hated the other and then done so many bad things that it turned the other and then I realised that is what happened) and become mortal enemies. But there are cracks appearing, Jim kissed Noelle and now their attraction is overpowering their desire to kill each other.This book is told partly through flashbacks and remembering the past which makes it oddly disjointed, some key moments were held off so long it was purely for dramatic tension (you know lik... moree when one character refuses to say what is wrong for no discernible reason other than plot) and lost impact - frankly I don't think Jim's reason for hating Noelle worked because the 'reason' was held off so long that it felt unreal.That being said, this was vintage Elle Kennedy, lots of action, billionaire arms dealers and glitzy parties. I especially liked the tension ratcheting between two other members of Jim's team and the tension in the flat when Jim and Noelle have wall-shaking sex.Not sure I'm that keen on the next book featuring Sean, one of the info Irish twins (well that's how I think of them)
review 2: I won this book from a First Read contest and was happy to get it within 3 days of receiving the notice that I won! I have loved this series by Elle Kennedy and have been wanting her to give us Jim & Noelle's story since she started it. All that being said, I have to say, I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! It was NOT a disappointment in any way. There was plenty of intrigue, angst, push-pull, alpha, romance, and all around great story telling. If you have not read this series, START NOW. less
