review 1: This was a fun, exciting read although in some places a bit gruesome. I love a good time travel story and this one fits the bill. Riley and Chevie are interesting protagonists with layers that are revealed and layers yet to be uncovered. And the villain is a multifaceted piece of evil. The plot twists and turns through time and all over London. It was compelling to see what would happen next. Did I like it? Let's just say I've already started the sequel.
review 2: I read and enjoyed the Artemis fowl series. I didn't love them. they were silly to the point of ridiculousness at times and over explained some things. luckily this new series does not have that problem. slightly more mature plot subject and certainly more mature humor than A.F. I thought it was ... moremuch better written. the one issue I did have though was, the constant POV shifts mid paragraph without any indication it was switching. less
