review 1: This one surprised me. I picked it up from the library thinking "we'll I'll give it a chance but I probably won't like it". We'll I was wrong. Thus one was self-aware and had fun with it. Drawing on the fact that everyone makes fun if Aquaman and nobody likes him as a superhero, the writers bring in excellent humour and pokes fun of it. After that gets out of the way though, it's down to business and the story doesn't let down. It's action pact and actually has a conclusion to the story arc. There's a nice bonus story where we learn more about Mera too which was actually nice and it opened up more questions for his universe. Never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait for the next volume!
review 2: I'm relatively new to Aquaman. I watched a lot of Just
... moreice League when I was younger, but I feel that doesn't qualify me to address this story with any kind of comparison to another Aquaman origin story. So I will review this solely by itself. The book starts out pretty well with the book giving a nod to the fact that Aquaman seems to be (for a lack of a better word) under appreciated in Super hero comparisons. People seem to think Aquaman is kind of a pushover. I mean all he really has is water and fish right! Well that's how the people seem to treat him. It makes you get kind of mad. Aquaman has done nothing to deserve this kind of treatment, but don't you worry they will learn. This story hits on a lot of Aquaman up and comings (as you would expect) as a child being raised by his father. By the way his father is a regular human. If you didn't know! All and all I think this story is well worth a read. I rate this a 4 out of 5 Tridents! less

I guess I have a thing for the misunderstood. Aquaman might become my one of my favorites from DC.

A great relaunch of a classic character. It is what Aquaman always should have been.

Never read any Aquaman before. This was good, and will have to read more.
