review 1: I finally got around to preparing the New England Clam Chowder (vegan, of course). The secret ingredient is seaweed to give it the flavor of the sea, instead of clams. I have to admit that my "ABS" cashew cream tanked, but I will definitely make this again. It was delicious in spite of the crunchy cashews. I am preparing another recipe later in the week that sounds really good....seared brussel sprouts and angelhair pasta with walnuts. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to cook and looking for new ideas.
review 2: 4 - i liked this book a lot more than i expected! i've flipped through some of her other books, and was a fan of the post punk kitchen for awhile, but nothing ever struck me as very exciting. but this book was engaging-- really nicely do
... morene visual design, hand lettering throughout and colorful pages, nice and slightly whimsical food styling and nice photographs of most of the dishes. this is a book i would consider adding to my collection as most of my vegetarian/vegan books focus on a more wholesome/healthy angle-- and while she doesn't ignore that side, it's mostly about comfort and satisfying foods, which is something i'd like to have a bit more fun with. And there are enough bean-free hearty things in here that i think M would eat and enjoy. i'll be holding on to this library pick for awhile. less

Wonderful, easy to follow recipes that come out great! Can't wait to try all of them.
Seems to be missing some of the "vim and vigor" of her previous works. :/
My favourite Isa cookbook! Fantastic recipes and beautiful pictures.
