review 1: Buzzwords: Fantasy, sailing, friendship, invention, assassins, brothers, Brotherband Chronicles meets Ranger's ApprenticeA fun, reasonably satisfying installment in the series with more adventures, more inventions, and more camaraderie. The writing got a bit sloppy sometimes - somewhat repetitive, with a bit too much exposition, but it was not too distracting. Fans of John Flanagan will not be disappointed.Cleanreaders: Some violence/death
review 2: Has anyone noticed that the Rangers Apprentice and the Brother band series similar? For example both Will and Hal have older but still capable mentors who are basically legends to the areas they are from. Both Hal and Will have larger and more muscle bound best friends, are owners of dogs. They will grow up to be pe
... moreople who change the areas they live and other areas too. I love how they are similar but not the point were they are the same stories and still just as interning and interesting. Flanagan created amazing worlds for complex and lovable characters as well characters that you can hate down to the very bone. I really admire his works and would recommend both series to anyone in theirs teens and up. Alright I'm done with my rant. less
