review 1: This book reminds me of Twilight. No vampires or teenaged angst, but simple vocabulary and settings, challenge-free, and designed to elicit emotion. It succeeds in that. We call these 'candy books' in our family. They're like watching tv: you can just let your eyes move, and your brain can take a backseat. It was a quick read with predictable characters and events. It was somewhat engaging, and I teared up a bit, but I felt manipulated to do so, not compelled by deep, thoughtful writing or real relationships and characters. It was ok. I'd recommend it for escapism beach reading. Those are nice to have sometimes. review 2: its quite odd I didnt really expect too much of this book when I picked it out.unfortunately I went on a trip for the weekend an... mored forgot my book at home so this one had to do. the plot sounded somewhat dull to me but lord was I wrong. I finished this book in less than 48 hours. I simply couldn't stop reading.it's one of the kind that you can easily picture in your mind and that really touches you. be prepared to have some tissues.I loved the main characters and loved how they developed throughout the chapters.this book is not only about romance how one might suspect when starting to read it, it also makes you ponder about certain aspects in life.definitely worth reading. less
