review 1: Reading a book by an author you really like is kind of like renewing a friendship with an old friend. I like this series about the Amish, although I doubt there is this much violence in their community. I'm not saying there's not violence, but I think there have been at least three serial killers, and that seems unlikely to me. I like Kate. Her struggle with having left the Amish fiat seems real to me.
review 2: I just skimmed down the first few reviews of this book and was overcome with the thought "Really??? Did they read the same book I did??" I thought it was awful -- not well written, boring and unrealistic plot, stupid ending -- need I say more. Granted, to be fair, I guess I must say that this is not my usual genre (if at all) -- I only picked this
... more up out of desperation because I did not have a CD to listen to and I can never be without one. But...to be honest I had a very difficult time even giving it one star -- not giving any would probably be more in line with how I felt about this book. less

A Gory predictable tale of violence among the Amish. My least favorite Linda Castillo book.

A little slow in the middle, however the end made up for it.
