review 1: Steven has really taken to this series. After reading a couple in the series, I found that I didn't feel that it was necessary to read them in order particularly since they are mostly authored by different authors. This one follows the formula and presents some history and excitement in an entertaining manner for young readers. Entertaining enough for adults for the quick reads that is not painful and makes it a worthy alternative to videos and video games for long trips. I was thrilled that Steven asked on two occasions on our trip to and from Charleston to stop the video game and let's read "his chapter book"
review 2: Cave of Wonders is a fantasy book in which three young adults, Dak, Sera, and Riq travel back in time to Baghdad Iraq, to the year, 1258 t... moreo fix one of the great breaks in history. They need to save some books from the House of Wisdom written by Aristotle before the SQ time wardens and the mongols, who are about to attack the city, destroy them. They first start off by trying to find the local Hystorian. When they do, they have to come up with a plan. When one of their plans finally works, they are able to get the books out, and travel in time to fix the next break. This author's (Matthew J. Kirby) work is fantastic, and very full of excitement. I am exited to read some of his other works. This book was so great, that I read it in less than a day. Fantasy is one of my favorate genre, because you get to experience things that you don't get to in the world today. People that are Into time travel, and quarreling friends Will enjoy this book. It is for all ages, and will make you want to read the next one. less
