review 1: This picture book was a spin off of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." In this version, three dinosaurs start cooking some pudding to lure Goldilocks into their house. They then go hide in the forest while Goldilocks creeps in. However, she quickly notices that this is not the typical bear family's house that she is usually in. The main theme in this book is sarcasm. This would be a good book to read to children when reading different versions of Goldilocks. Before the story ended, the teacher could have all the students predict what they thought would happen to Goldilocks.
review 2: Awesome book! I really enjoyed this book because it was funny and different from the traditional story. The dinosaurs create a set up for Goldilocks with chocolate pudding and... more big furniture. The story is told with some jokes and sarcasm. I have read several books by Mo Willems and love how he tells a story and is able to capture the interest of the readers. This book can be used in the classroom when learning about traditional tales. Students could compare this story with the original. It could also be used as a guide for students' writing and they could also change aspects of the story to create their own. For instance, the dinosaurs could be elephants instead. Overall, great read. less
