review 1: Super book. Excellent writing for a first novel.Reminded me of "The thirteenth Tale" in the way the story gradually comes out through the narrator, Ginny. Two sisters meet again after years of estrangement. The air is heavy with resentment and grudges. We hope to get the unbiased account of events because Ginny is supposed to be the reasonable and sensible one, the scientist. As the book progresses we realise she is a completely unreliable narrator. There are many twists and turns and even at the end you are never sure what the truth really is. An unusual bookwhich I enjoyed immensely
review 2: This is a tale of two sisters who meet as old women after decades apart. In their last week together the review their childhood brought up by eccentric parents in a crumbl
... moreing Dorset mansion, the events which brought them close, the tragedies which tore them apart. It wasn't until P126 that I began to see why friends bought this book for me; not until P155 that I became engrossed in the story. Thereafter I was engrossed. A haunting story, well told. And exactly my kind of story. Thanks, Mike and Sue! less
