The Legend of Eli Monpress
review 1: Wow! This story is getting better and better! It's been a quite time, since I read such a good story! Each book, is adding more interesting characters and the story is getting more interesting, without get lost.Nico is really a brave girl! She is the most tough character for me, because of what she had inside her, and she keep struggling to be true to herself. Josef is always the one with his "feet in the ground". He is a very loyal and respectful character. Well, finally Miranda noticed what is really important! Because her obsession to catch Eli, was getting on my nerves! The story gave a good twist! In a way you can't even imagine what's going to happen and how it's going to happen. What I really like in this book, is the fact that the characters aren't perfect. They all... more have their flaws, but they seek for the justice. It's really a very good reading!
review 2: While I think one needs the other volumes to get to this point, I love the way Aaron is expanding and detailing the world here, especially with the animistic magic, the theology, and the various political/mystical interests who are all vying for power. Nicely done! The plot in this one is extra-twisty, which is excellent. The characters develop, as does the world itself. The gods are flawed and somewhat myopic, in a genuine bow to actual polytheology (even if that was not intended). Even people and organizations that work together do so for their own reasons, which means that alliances need to be nurtured or else they will break- and these negotiations are vital. An excellent novel in a very enjoyable series! I look forward to reading the next 2- and then WOE! the series has ended.Comment less
