The Legend of Eli Monpress
review 1: Awesome! This book is really cool!Full of adventure, funny moments and mystery! The story keeps getting better and better.Eli Monpress, the typical thief: always curious and seeking challenges to him, and also his friends, of course!Miranda is very brave, but sometimes, she annoys me soooo much! Eli helped her so many times, but she still wants to arrest him, because she thinks is the right thing to do!Finally, Josef accepted his sword and started to act like a real swordsman. I'm super curious to know more about Nico. She is my favorite character, because she is the one with the biggest problem, but even so, she carry on!Well, this is a very well written story, full of great and interesting characters, that make it really worthy to read.
review 2: In the sec
... moreond book of the Eli Monpress series, Eli is still out to get his bounty to 1,000,000 gold standards, and he's well on his way.Enter the Duke of Gaol. He's obsessed with catching Eli, so he makes sure Eli knows about his "thief-proof" citadel by putting posters in every country round about. Eli sees this as the perfect opportunity to up the bounty on his head, so off he goes with Josef and Nico in tow.Miranda Lyonette is still upset about losing to Eli in the last book, but now she has been removed from the Spirit Court. While sulking, she is approached by the West Wind's ambassador and asked to go to Gaol and do some investigative work for him. Apparently, something is off in Gaol, but the West Wind cannot interfere. Miranda and Gin decide to go and see what is going on.When Eli and Miranda get to Gaol, they find things are very strange indeed. None of the spirits will talk to Eli, and then he finds that someone has hit his target before him, clearing out the treasury. There's only one person he knows who would be able to pull off such a feat, his mentor. While Eli adn the older Monpress work together, Miranda and Gin are searching for a way to break the stranglehold that the Duke of Gaol has over all the spirits in his realm. Working together, Eli and Miranda are able to break his hold and return things to normal. The two other story lines, of course, revolve around Josef and Nico. Josef learns the true nature of the Heart of War and they learn to work together to become nearly unbeatable. Nico is still fighting the demonseed inside of her, but we still know nothing about her.All in all, this was as enjoyable as the first book, and I'm really looking forward to reading more of the series. It's just good fun! less
