review 1: A short story from fictional writer Richard Castle about his other fictional character Derrick Storm. A little confusing? If you are a fan of the show Castle, then you know what I am talking about. I am always weary about a short story because the point and conclusion must be made quickly and hopefully without sacrificing the enjoyment of the book. This short story enticed me quickly and I enjoyed the book. This will not go down as great literature but it succeeds in what it is meant to be. A quick read that the reader will enjoy.
review 2: I do not own a e-reader, so when I heard that the writers of my favorite television show were creating short e-novels and bringing back Richard Castle's best selling character Derick Storm, I was upset. How could I read them
... more?!? Not only that but in 2013 the actually published a hardcover novel Storm Front and in order to read that one I needed to read the e-novels. Needless to say, I was not very happy. However, I got lucky and got a chance to read them this week! Derick Storm is back from the dead in 'A Brewing Storm' and is ready for action yet again. When a senator's son is kidnapped it is up to Storm to come out of retirement, assume a fake identity (because he is supposed to be dead), and find this senator's son. Together, with April Shower's, an F.B.I agent they must work together to find him before it is too late. The chemistry between April and Derick is great, especially when they're fighting and there is incredible sexual tension. The cast of characters are very colorful, to say the least, and make reading this short e-novel fun and exciting. Though at points I thought it was very simple and I did figure out some of the mystery, it kept me on the edge of my seat and waiting to see what would happen to Derick Storm and April Showers, more so than I was wondering what would happen to the son who was kidnapped. Ending on a cliffhanger, I instantly wanted to read the next e-novel to see what was next for Derick, if April would be joining him, and just exactly how far Derick is willing to go to get answers! :) less

Am hooked on the tv series - will see if the books are just more of the same.

Plot and characters need more development. Felt like a half hearted attempt.

Not as good as the Nikki Heat books, but still great!
