review 1: Ok this book was, hmmm, interesting. So I would have given it five stars because I enjoyed it so much and it was written so well but there was one thing I didn't like about it and that was the part about the Elgen (The bad guys) feeding their prisoners to rates, alive, describing it, horrifying, ick, so gross, you get the picture. SO that was really disgusting and because of this I rated the book three stars and will probably not be reading the next two because I'm afraid what might be in them. Other than that it was good as far as sequels go and left you with a cliff hanging wondering what is going to happen next.
review 2: Rise Of The Elgen Is the second book in the Michael Vey series, and is a well worthy sequel to the first book titled "The prisoner of cell
... more 25". The book carries on from where it left off where Michael and the group escape from the Pasadena Elgen academy, and are heading back to Idaho. They managed to escape with a few extra glows (As Dr. Hatch calls them) that will be able to help Michael face the Elgen trying to recapture them. Along the way, they get help from someone called "the voice" that helps them to escape from the Elgen. Later on "The Voice" informs them that the Elgen have a bigger plan: To take control of the worlds power so that they can eventually rule the world. Ostin also finds out using the info they got from the Elgen computers from the Pasadena academy with the help of Abi, that Michael's mother is being held in the largest starxource plant (what the power plants that the Elgen are using to take over the world are called) in Puerto Maldonado, Peru. The voice Then gets them a plane out to Puerto Maldonado so they can rescue Michael's mother. Once they get to puetro Maldonado, they get help from one of "The Voice's" workers to get to the plant. The Group manages to finally get into the compound. They learn that the main power source of the plant is electrified rats. They disguise themselves as guards and get Michael's mother, but Michael gets captured again by hatch. Hatch gives him one more chance to join him, but declines numerous times. less

This book was amazing. I loved how the author put life & death situations in the book. It really stood out from the rest of the books I've read. It had romance and adventure and so many other things that would just spoil the book. I plan on reading The Battle of the Ampere later on. I suggest that if parents want their child to read this book they should read it first themselves to see if they think it is appropriate for your child.

This book was absolutely amazing. The author uses lots of clear language to describe what is going on. He also has developed the plot very well. It is clear what the characters are doing, and how they are trying to achieve that. The characters are very well thought out, they all have their own personality traits. I really liked this book, and look forward towards reading the next book of the series.
