review 1: As usual, I enjoyed Book Four of the Michael Vey series, and will work on being patient until next fall when #5 comes out. I enjoy Evans' stories overall, so it's no surprise I enjoyed this one. In response to others' criticism of his writing; yeah, there are areas that can be annoying, such as Ostin's superior knowledge of just about every subject imaginable, and his penchant to "lecture" about it, but it's part of his personality, and everyone has flaws in their character, real or imagined people, and Evans' characters are all very strong, which makes the books and this series work so well overall. There are holes or areas of the plot that seem to be off, but overall, it's a fun and interesting read, and for those who enjoy this genre, I recommend it hi... moreghly.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. The action, surprises, and interactions are things I really liked. There was a element of love but no gushy romance, and I find that to be a very good thing. I would recommend it to those who enjoy action, suspense, and changing people through love in their books. This book shows that people can change for the better if you just give them a chance, and that the world is full of individuals who need to be saved. Foreshadowing a literary element in the story that was used, if you chose to read the book be sure to look out for it. less
