review 1: Rick seemed to be dealing with things a little better in this instalment and Carl is ever-growing as a character. I really enjoyed this book as I have done with all of the others and cant see myself ever giving these anything but 5 stars. The end of this books shows us that Dale is getting increasingly angry with Rick and blaming him for things that go wrong. The group has also encountered their first incredibly large "herd" of zombies. Will they all get away?
review 2: Reprints The Walking Dead #55-60 (November 2008-April 2009). Rick and Carl are back with the group…but Rick is still having problems coping with the death of Lori. With midnight “calls” on a phone, Rick is haunted by the death and finds himself questioning his sanity. As Rick begins to c
... morerack, he’s challenged by another survivor named Abraham whose own past may force him to kill. Maggie too is trying to cope with the death of her family and it forces her to make a drastic decision. When Rick, Carl, and Abraham go on a trip back to Rick’s hometown for supplies, Rick might cross a line that he can never come back from.Written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Charlie Adlard, The Walking Dead 10: What We Become continues the popular series which launched the hit AMC show. Following the events of The Walking Dead 9: Here We Remain, The Walking Dead 10: What We Become collects the next six issues of the series but this volume has also been collected in other bigger collections like The Walking Dead Book 5.The Walking Dead continues to morph and change as the series progresses. What once was “Rick’s book” is quickly becoming an ensemble cast book. Here, Carl and Abraham feel almost like the leads since Rick is borderline insane. I do like that The Walking Dead keeps morphing and changing and that is one advantage of having an “unlimited” series in a world filled with zombies…what happens after the invasion?Though I like The Walking Dead, I’m finding it more and more depressing. I’m all for down-on-your-luck people, but The Walking Dead doesn’t let up. I feel like there have been some “good” moments in The Walking Dead to temper all the horrible stuff that happens, but it has been few and far between in recent collections. Here we see everyone hating on Rick, Carl revealing a dark side (after almost being raped), and one of the earlier characters Morgan return…only to reveal his son is a zombie. I need something good to happen to these people soon.I also still cannot imagine reading this as an individual issue series. If you look back issue to issue, not much happens in The Walking Dead. There will be big issues but as an individual issue series, I wouldn’t be able to keep reading. The collections are definitely the way to go if you want to feel a complete story. The Walking Dead 10: What We Become still demonstrates the strength of the series. It also shows how different the TV series and the comic have evolved, and how both can be enjoyed by fans. It almost is worth reading the comic to provide more surprise to the series (almost nothing is the same other than basic set-ups). If you only watched the show, start the comic from the beginning and keep reading! It is worth it. The Walking Dead 10: What We Become is followed by The Walking Dead 11: Fear the Hunters. less

This is a great addition to the series. This is tenth volume in The Walking Dead series. The volume is about the group is still on the road but that doesn't mean they aren't going to get up to anything. While on there way to Washington a lot happens. While everything thinks Maggie was at the toilet in the bushes Glenn finds her hanging from a tree. Everyone thinks that she is dead, Abraham wants to shoot her but Rick and Glenn are not having it. What will happen with Maggie?Meanwhile Rick thinks of a good idea. Himself, Carl and Abraham should head up to Ricks hometown and get some supplies from the police station. The three of them head up there in hope of finding weapons and supplies. While camping for the night, some men attack them and want everything that they have. They take Carl and try and rape him. Rick and Abraham are held and are helpless. What is going to happen to Carl? When they get to Ricks hometown they find an old friend. Who could it be!? While the three of them are on the road Dale finds a new place that he wants to live in with Andrea, the twins (Ben and Billy) and possibly the rest of the group. What Could possibly stop this from happening? The main character is Rick as usual. He's super, I love his character development a lot in this volume. You can see his dedication to Carl a lot and I really admire Robert Kirkman for creating such an ace character like Rick Grimes. The supporting characters in this are Carl and Abraham. I liked Carl in this a lot, the reason for this is that it shows him very to be more matured, like in the last volume but a bit of me thinks that Robert Kirkman is trying to hard with his character. I really like Abraham in this, the reason being is that he's not been in the series that long and we already know a lot about his character and he's made a huge impact on the series already! The usual characters that made a good appearance are Dale, Andrea, Michonne, Maggie, Glenn, Sophia, the twins (Ben and Billy), Rosita and Eugene. Then we have the return of Morgan Jones! I liked his brief appearance in volume 1 and I liked how they made his return very good and I liked the way they did it too! :) I didn't expect this volume to be as good as it was. This volume had everything you need in a volume. It had great character development within some characters mainly at Rick, Carl, Abraham and Dale. It also had twists and turns that I didn't expect to happen and it also had a lot of action scenes with great zombie kills. This volume was a page turner that kept me gripped throughout the graphic novel.

This edition of the walking dead is brought to you by the psychological society - this chapter focusing primarily on 'How do we handle stress?' - zombie apocalypse style. Are you one to take charge and suffer the consequences? Do you become a dictator to cover your own fears? Do you want to just check out and try your luck in your next life? Do you give in and join the cult? Do you keep trudging despite the odds? Do you look forward and not look back, despite the overwhelming urge to do so?How would you react if you lost everything you loved and cared about. Living but really not knowing why you did, or where this life will take you? What is still there to keep you going? All these questions are there and you have to figure it out while constantly on the run from a relentless horde of mindless evil that is bent on killing you and whomever you are with.Man, I can't say it enough - I am soooo glad I don't have to live in a zombie apocalypse.

Does Rick always ruin everything, or do shitty things just happen to Rick?
